ORSUS was released 1 year ago! We celebrated the release of the first ‘Geo the Space Explorer’ book with gold balloons and a disco ball ice cream cake.

Orsus means beginning and we reflected on what has been an extraordinary year of creating, learning, growing and connecting! We can’t thank our friends – new and old, enough for becoming part of our world.

GJ and Liz have started working at Whitsunday Coast Airport. He is now on staff as the ‘Chief Passenger Pawfficer’!

Channel 7 news ran a story about the new initiative. He joins a special pack of Therapy Dogs worldwide who work at airports.

He is bringing ‘GJ magic’ to locals and visitors to our region.

GJ has a new book! It’s perfectly timed to commemorate his graduation as a ‘Therapy Dog’ through Therapy Dogs Australia.

His kids comic book ‘I want to be a panda’ is the latest instalment in his ‘GJ the Earth Explorer’ A-Z tall story, travel adventure series. A was for Australia, B for Botswana and C is for China!

NEWSFLASH! January 2026

The entire month went by in a blur. After Liz completed the Therapy Dogs Australia Clinical Training Course the heat was turned up! We needed to help the team demonstrate obedience and manners in videos.

One of them involved demonstrating a ‘DROP-STAY’ despite distractions. Three lots of 5 minutes, with only a short break in between, on a continuous video is needed to pass. This is an example of a practice session to give you an idea of how tough it is. It’s been BIG!

The festive season is upon us once again. This is the first Christmas for ‘The House of Hickson.’ At this time we are reflecting on the year we’ve had. We are overwhelmingly grateful to everyone who has bought a book.

Everything we do is in-house. My humans don’t pay anyone for anything including likes, followers or reviews. So an enormous thank you to those who have entered our world and extra big licks to those special humans who have taken the extra time to leave a review.

This is the first ‘adult fiction’ book in the series. It builds on the worlds created in the first three but does not require prior knowledge. It’s an escapist, immersive read, particularly if you love champagne, travel and solving puzzles!
